Civic Center was built in 1975 and has been home of the Recreation Department for the past 43 years.

With funds from 2011 and 2016 SPLOST the Civic Center has undergone major updates and renovations. A new roof was put on the building, handicap accessible front doors installed, new bathrooms installed for lobby area, building was completely rewired, entire building was painted, kitchen updated, offices updated and stage renovated (new curtains, new screen, stage floor refinished).

The Civic Center is the meeting place for the community, hosting numerous civic organizations such as Kiwanis, Woodman of the World, Retired Teachers, Humane Society, Hobby Club, AARP trainings and Checker Rose Quilt Guild. It is also a place for local residents to hold birthday parties, showers, classes, reunions, weddings, funerals and receptions.

The gym is open for basketball when the facility is not rented. During mid-November through Mid-March, the gym is not rented because youth basketball programs are in progress.

A rental calendar for the Civic Center is posted in the main lobby for the public to view the days that the gym is available.
